Studio D'Artisan has gone down every path of the ancient textile dying styles of Japan and they've finally reached one of the most difficult and time consuming styles of dying, Kusaki-Zome. This is an ancient style of dying which involves burning, then cooking down various natural plant/leaves/wood to create a soot which is then fermented naturally over a period of 6 to 12 months, then reconstituted with water to create a fully natural dye-bath. Amazing depth in the color and a very unique style of dying which is not done by many.
